Families could request bookings online, but payment relied on manual EFT. I redesigned and rebuilt the WordPress website from scratch, including custom booking systems for birthday parties and school tours, with PayFast payments that the team manages themselves.

The brief
Birthday parties and school tours are a core part of Holmeleigh Farmyard’s business. The existing website had booking forms, but payment relied on EFT. The farm needed families and schools to book online, choose a date and timeslot, add numbers and extras, and pay in one step, with pricing the team could manage themselves. The site also needed a fresh look, so I redesigned it from scratch.

A busy attraction needed a calmer way to take bookings
The website had to do more than look good. It needed to answer visitor questions, make party options and school tours easy to understand, and handle the details of a real booking without creating more admin for the farm team.

Dates, timeslots, guests, catering and payment choices had to be clear before anyone committed.

Prices, FAQs and seasonal information should be editable without a developer.

03 / The booking system
A WordPress booking system that handles the detail.
There are two separate booking forms, one for birthday parties and one for school tours, each built around how that booking works. For parties, families choose a date and timeslot, enter the number of adults and children, add catering extras, and pay a deposit or the full amount. PayFast handles the payment, and the booking summary shows what is due now and what is settled later.

A custom WordPress block theme with ACF blocks lets the team update content without touching the layout or risking the design.
SerpApi
Reviews without a plugin
Google reviews are fetched through SerpApi, stored in the database and displayed automatically, with no copy-and-paste and no review plugin to maintain.
